ROME (Reuters) - A man carrying a knife was arrested on Sunday during routine checks of people heading towards St. Peter's Square, a police spokesperson said, on the day the pope gives his weekly address to the crowds. The spokesperson said the man was a 51-year-old Italian who underwent checks in the morning in Via della Conciliazione, a road leading up to the St. Peter's Basilica at the Vatican. In a confrontation to disarm the man, one officer reported being lightly injury, police said. The spokesperson added that there was no evidence suggesting the man was carrying the knife for terrorism-related purposes and he was arrested on charges of injuring and resisting an officer. Ansa news agency reported that the arrested man suffered from a mental disorder.

Rome CNN —Ruins of a private theater belonging to the 1st century Roman Emperor Nero have been unearthed in the Italian capital just meters from the Vatican, in what experts are calling an “exceptional” find. Nero was the fifth Roman emperor, ruling between 54 and 68 AD. The site includes elegant marble columns, gold-leaf decorations and storage rooms with remnants of costumes and backdrops used in Nero’s theatrical productions. A double-faced Junus head, approximately dated to the 1st century A.D., is seen among other findings coming from the excavation of ancient Roman emperor Nero's theater. “Being able to dig in this built-up, historically rich area is so rare.”Archaeologists work on findings coming from the excavation site of the ancient Roman emperor Nero's theater.

Some 2,180 climate-related lawsuits have been filed across 65 jurisdictions over the past five years, according to the report by the UN Environment Programme (UNEP) and New York's Columbia University, which tracks ongoing climate cases in a global database. Many cases involve claims based on accusations of corporate greenwashing or advocating for greater climate disclosures. Youth climate activists have already played a central role, with 34 cases brought forward on behalf of children, teens, and young adults. Litigation targeting the disruptive actions of climate activists is also on the rise, Tigre said.

About 17 percent of cases have been filed in developing countries, according to the report, with rainforest-rich Brazil and Indonesia among the countries seeing the most. Youth climate activists have already played a central role, with 34 cases brought forward on behalf of children, teens, and young adults.
